Outsmart Your Cancer Deserves AttentionTanya Harter Pierce's Book Offers Information, Advice and Hope
Outsmart Your Cancer Offers Alternative Non-Toxic Cancer Treatments That Work, according to author Tanya Harter Pierce. Many will agree wholeheartedly with these options.
Tanya Harter Pierce’s book, Outsmart Your Cancer (Thoughtworks Publishing, 2006) will make a lasting impression on every reader. This work is clearly and concisely written. From the first page to the last, one will find Pierce’s discussions highly interesting, informative and extremely easy to comprehend. Causes of CancerPierce begins this work with two chapters discussing cancer and why it’s so prevalent. She also covers several “cancer myths” perpetuated by the practitioners of conventional cancer treatment. For example, regarding the supposed effectiveness of chemotherapy and radiation: “Chemotherapy and radiation have even worse long-term recovery rates than surgery…These toxic treatments harm healthy parts of a person’s body along with the cancer, thereby making long-term recovery difficult” (4). She goes on to say, “…when it comes to conventional medical treatments for metastasized cancer, many researchers agree that the long-term survival rate for these patients is less than 1 percent” (7). Pesticide and herbicide exposure, along with diet, environment and lifestyle are, according to Pierce, the leading causes of cancer which she discusses fully in the chapter, “Why So Much Cancer and What Causes It.” In this same chapter, she also clearly and succinctly discusses five prevailing, scientific “theories” of cancer, all of which she forewarns are truly inadequate. Alternative Treatments for CancerFully half of this book covers alternative cancer treatments. The author gives interesting biographical information about the individuals who discovered or developed these treatments. In almost every case, the originator of the cancer treatment was abolished from the medical community, shunned, jailed, threatened or otherwise ostracized. Despite careful documentation of the efficacy of the cancer treatments, the medical community refused to consider the “unorthodox” approaches. Not only does Pierce discuss the originators of these various non-toxic cancer treatments and the treatments themselves in full detail, but she gives case histories and examples for each treatment. Of great importance, the author also includes information on where to obtain the medicine or the medical treatment, or where one can find further information. Hormones and Other Health IssuesAnother arresting section of this book is related to “Key Cancer Recovery Issues,” and has a chapter discussing the body’s ph level and cancer: alkaline versus acidic; a key chapter on hormones and what women must know about them; and a chapter about toxic teeth and fluoride. Pierce concludes with a discussion of conventional cancer treatments, alternative treatments and dealing with the fear of cancer and the mind/body connection. Pierce also offers a list of recommended resources and includes an appendix in which she discusses “Five Big Environmental Cancer Triggers,” which include:
Ultimately, Pierce pens a comprehensive, fascinating, well-written book detailing alternative non-toxic cancer treatments. Wisely, however, the author encourages individuals to make their own choice for cancer treatment based on careful research and thoughtful consideration. Whether one has cancer or not, however, Pierce’s discussion of environmental toxins and the cancer reality of today will surely be beneficial for anyone to read.
